Overview
The Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for testing all-Enterprise Applications functionality as well as integrations and reports to help ensure our systems are of the highest quality possible before they are released. The Quality Assurance Analyst will develop and execute tests on new and existing software and much more to ensure that they meet requisite functional and technical compliance. The ideal candidate will be driven to succeed, organized, thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be a team player.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with QA engineers, testers, and developers to understand project scope and ensure testing processes align with project goals and requirements.
- Develops and executes detailed test plans, test cases, to assess product functionality, performance, and usability.
- Conducts thorough and efficient testing across various stages of the product lifecycle, from development to release.
- Performs manual and test automation testing and able to identify critical areas of the target application.
- Documents test scenarios, write test scripts, execute test scripts, enhance our automated testing opportunities in Kainos (preferred automated testing tool).
- Works closely with developers and product managers to identify and address quality issues early in the development process.
- Tracks and monitors quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, test coverage, etc.) to assess the effectiveness of the QA process.
- Participates in meetings and discussions and able to present information in a professional manner.
- Mentors end users and able to assists them if needed.
- Complies and upholds organizational standards.
- Completes testing for multiple software applications as needed. This may involve working one on one or with an entire team to test mid- large size projects.
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in QA methodologies and tools to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Supports the tracking and resolution of defects, ensuring critical issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
- Contributes to a culture of quality by promoting best practices and aligning with company diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Motivated and focused on delivering quality results in a team environment (continuous evaluation and improvement).
- Supports other initiatives of the quality assurance department in measuring and maintaining quality standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, BCIS or related fields or equivalent work-related experience.
- 3+ years of experience in software development, business systems analysis, or quality assurance analysis.
- Experience in developing test scripts.
- Experience with manual and automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, TestRail) and techniques such as functional, performance, security, and regression testing.
- Proficiency in Software Testing Principles such as STLC, test strategy, test case creation, and testing types.
- Experience testing CRM/ATS and ERP applications, (Bullhorn and Workday- preferred), or quality assurance experience in staffing and/or back office.
- Ability to assess risks in product quality and processes to mitigate them.
- Proficiency in identifying the underlying causes of defects or quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Familiar with Software Development Procedures such as the SDLC, code merge and deployment process, and Agile practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey quality issues, testing results, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on quality goals and issue resolution.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Understanding of technical terminology in regard to servers, databases, APIs.
- Ability to prioritize testing efforts and defect resolution based on factors like business impact, risk, and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to maintaining high standards and continuously improving the quality of products or services.
- Proficient with MS Office (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office).
- Experience in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
